Mother Cabrini Shrine Gala 2021
Friday, September 17 at 5:30 p.m.
Pinnacle Club at the Grand Hyatt, Denver
Join us for a celebration of gratitude! Your generosity of 20 years of galas has funded Mother Cabrini Shrine and its ongoing operations. To expand and renew our precious Shrine, we have launched the Heart of Jesus Capital Campaign over the past year. With the growing number of shrine guests, we need to restore, repair and enhance our facility for future growth and vitality. With that spirit in mind, all proceeds from the 2021 Gala will be a part of the Capital Campaign and go toward the expansion and renovation of the chapel.
We are eager to come back together for this annual event that will honor our resilient supporters, preview the excitement of the future and provide a unique and peaceful environment reminiscent of the powerful experience of a visit to the shrine. Space will be limited to ensure all safety protocols, so early registration is recommended. Not able to attend in-person this year but still want to celebrate? Silent Auction items and donation opportunities will be available in advance of the event, and a portion of the gala will be livestreamed to ensure you don’t miss out on this wonderful, annual occasion.
Please note that we are actively monitoring the COVID-19 situation in our region and plan to follow any guidance from local health departments and the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). Continue to check our event site for more details leading up to the gala.
We celebrate the Feast of St. Frances Cabrini on November 13. Her birthday is July 15 and she was cononized July 7, 1946. We always celebrate the Feast of the Sacred Heart of Jesus which is 19 days after Pentecost Sunday.
Earlier this year, the Colorado Legislature passed Frances Xavier Cabrini House Bill 20-1031 into law, establishing Frances Xavier Cabrini Day as a Colorado State Holiday. The first paid state holiday in the nation that recognizes a woman, Cabrini Day will be observed in Colorado annually on the first Monday in October. (October 5, 2020)
Mother Cabrini dedicated her life to helping the poor, the sick, immigrants and those less fortunate. Her story is rich with determination, grit and an unshakable faith in the Sacred Heart of Jesus. This day is about her story and we are eager for people to learn of it and be inspired by her life and all she accomplished.
As we celebrate this inaugural Frances Cabrini Day during this time of the COVID pandemic, we are committed to following Jefferson County and the state of Colorado’s Safer-At-Home guidelines. We ask that visitors practice safe social distancing and wear a mask. There is limited capacity within our buildings and chapels and there are sign up requirements for Sunday Masses. We are working hard to keep the Shrine safe and open so that we can continue to welcome all who come to Mother Cabrini Shrine. Due to Covid, there are no formal activities planned at Mother Cabrini Shrine on Cabrini Day 2020.
